Me and Patta have built a strong bond. I was asked by them to shoot for Clarks. Together we looked at the history of Clarks – it is a very big style in Jamaica, so we went there to shoot. Patta asked me to apply the theory of how I shoot Societies to commercial work.
In Kingston, we visited some societies. In the centre of Kingston there’s an original Jamaican society, and we worked together with that neighborhood to create pictures. These have been exhibited in London, in a Patta pop-up store which had been converted in an exhibition space. It was a very special project.
